This book was one of my most anticipated read of the year, and I was not disappointed! It blew me away ! This is a testament to R.K. Lilley’s excellent writing and characterization. “Breaking Her” was such an intense rollercoaster ride of emotions and angst, with many twists and turns, gut-wrenching revelations and scorching sensuality ! The plot was so complex and compelling that I simply could not put this book down.

Even if at the end of “Breaking Him”, I was not a fan of Dante (to say the least), he totally won me over in this book. His sacrifice to protect Scarlett was heartbreaking. Both characters are unforgettable.

“Do you love me at least as much as you hate me ?”

Scarlett and Dante are soulmates and, even after all the heartache they went through, their love is still intact. Both are devastated by their separation. Scarlett hates Dante with a passion for what he did to her, but that hatred consumes her. However, nothing between them is what it seems, and when Scarlett will understand what Dante has done and his motivations, will she be able to forgive him and herself ? But, most of all, can they win the war against the most incredible villain ?

“And I was very afraid that if I knew how far back his lies went, my self-hatred would know no bounds.”

I highly recommend this intense, heartbreaking and heart-mending story, that kept me turning the pages ! “Love is War” is a definite must read series ! And I hope that Dante’s brother Bastian will get his own story.
