I’d dated his brother.
He didn’t remember and I wish I could forget.
I may have sworn off the Wright family a long time ago. But when I returned home, Jensen Wright crashed into my life with the confidence of a billionaire CEO and the sex appeal of a god. Even I couldn’t resist our charged chemistry, or the way he fit into my life like a missing puzzle piece.
Too bad he’d forgotten the one thing that could destroy us.
Because Jensen Wright doesn’t share. Not with anyone. And if his brother finds out, this could all go down in flames.
When it all was said and done, was he the Wright brother?

After a bad break-up, Emery Robinson is back in her hometown, Lubbock. She meets Jensen Wright at a marriage ceremony. Jensen is a filthy rich businessman, who owns, with his siblings, the major construction company in the country. He is Lubbock royalty. Emery dated his brother Landon in high school, but he broke up with her on graduation day. Emery has a history of bad break-ups and she has sworn off serious relationships, especially with a Wright.
She is surprised by Jensen’s interest in her. Jensen isn’t used to getting rejected, but he finds her refreshing and wants to get to know her better. Jensen was an enigma for a large part of the book, in my opinion. His intentions and motivations are unclear. He is charming and kind, though. He has baggage of his own, his life is almost entirely about managing his family’s company. There was a lot of push and pull between Emery and Jensen, feelings of insecurities and trust issues to overcome. Emery and Jensen’s relationship was definitely a bumpy ride!
Overall, this book was a great introduction to a new series, the story flowed well. I have to admit that the characters were a little hard to warm up to, though. But I understood them better as the story unfolded. The author did a great job of tying up all loose ends and giving me the ending I wanted. The second book will feature the infamous Landon Wright, do I need to mention that I can’t wait!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author and Inkslinger PR.
