Rating : 5 out of 5 Stars

“Thicker Than Water” is a thought-provoking, poignant and gorgeously romantic read. I’m simply blown away by the author’s riveting storytelling, the depth and the impact of the plot and the amazing characterization. This story has never been more relevant in our society than it is now. This is a book that will make you think and that challenges your outlook on things. At the same time, it is a beautiful story of true love that will capture your heart. Lucia and Reece are unforgettable characters and their emotional journey resonated with me. Their chemistry leaped off the pages! I loved these characters, they are perfectly attuned.

Lucia Vega belongs to the group of so called DREAMERs, she has entered the US illegally as a minor, with her parents. She has written a successful book about a girl struggling with the realities of undocumented people. Reese Carras is Hollywood royalty, his family owns a major film studio. He knows he is privileged, and he uses his celebrity to make a difference, actively defending immigrant rights. He wants to bring Lucia’s book to a major audience and turn the story into a film.

Despite the success of her book, Lucia’s future is bleak if she continues living in undocumented status. Her association with Reece is the opposite of the life in the shadows she is used to. Reese is persistent and Lucia can’t resist his tenderness and the deep emotions he awakens. I loved that they both discovered how to grow on their own and how to grow with each other as a couple. The struggles and obstacles that this couple would face made this book even more heartbreaking and compelling. This story was unique and eye-opening, I can’t recommend it highly enough!
