in her law office, the last thing Gen needs is for Arthur to whisk her off to Paris for the social wedding of the century to schmooze the people who will decide his fate.
Gen has broken all the rules, and she could very well end up with a broken heart.

My Review
Rating : 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Hard Liquor is the second installment in Blair Babylon’s Arthur Duet and is the continuation of Arthur Finch-Hatten and Genevieve Ward’s story. Genevieve, “Gen”, is a junior lawyer, in the first term of her law practical training. As it happens, her future as a British trial lawyer, a barrister, rests on the difficult case of Lord Arthur Finch-Hatten, a privileged billionaire rascal, used to getting his way and nicknamed the earl of Givesnofucks. He is sued by his younger brother for possession of the family’s title and estates.

Arthur and Gen are involved with one another despite the professional risks such a relationship entails for Gen. She intends to win his case and save him from ruin. It’s more and more apparent that Arthur has two faces and a lot of secrets. Gen has caught glimpses of the intense and serious man he is. She didn’t expect the depth of the feelings he has for her, but she knows Arthur is holding back a part of his life. He is not the person he seems to be. She feels safe with him, though, and tries to live for the moment. Arthur finds himself between a rock and a hard place, the choices he had to make were heartbreaking. I loved the intensity of this story, the plot was engrossing and I could not put this book down. Both characters were well-developed and engaging, I definitely rooted for them!

When the truths are finally revealed, they are explosive. Blair Babylon has worked her magic with words and delivered a clever romance loaded with secrets and intrigue, that I devoured almost in one sitting!

Release Blitz & Giveaway : The Bad Guy by Celia Aaron

Title: The Bad Guy
Author: Celia Aaron
Genre: Dark Romance
Release Date: May 21, 2017

My name is Sebastian Lindstrom, and I’m the villain of this story.

I’ve decided to lay myself bare. To tell the truth for once in my hollow life, no matter how dark it gets. And I can assure you, it will get so dark that you’ll find yourself feeling around the blackened corners of my mind, seeking a door handle that isn’t there.

Don’t mistake this for a confession. I neither seek forgiveness nor would I accept it. My sins are my own. They keep me company.
Instead, this is the true tale of how I found her, how I stole her, and how I
lost her.

She was a damsel, one who already had her white knight. But every fairy tale has a villain, someone waiting in the wings to rip it all down. A scoundrel who will set the world on fire if that means he gets what he wants. That’s me.

I’m the bad guy.

My Review

Rating : 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Celia Aaron has delivered a tale about obsession that also manages to be sweet and utterly romantic! Sebastian Lindstrom is definitely my kind of anti-hero! To be honest, if I met him in real life, I would run for the hills, lol! Mercurial, ruthless, aloof, possessive, an emotionless stalker… this guy is creepy! And yet there is so much more to him than his psychopathic personality. He is totally vulnerable when he understands the depth of his feelings and his inability to rationalize them.

Sebastian is used to getting his way. So when he sees Camille Briarlane for the first time, and decides he wants her, he will not hesitate to do anything to get her. But despite his need to manipulate, she has a hold over him. He has never experienced anything like his feelings for Camille, he was diagnosed as a psychopath. He savors the fact that he has these feelings, however unfamiliar and unsettling they are to him. Sebastian and Camille are polar opposites. He is selfish, she is selfless, she is the light to his darkness. Camille is a heroine I liked from the beginning of the story, she is strong, kind and a beautiful person. Of course, she is upset by Sebastian’s choices, his coldhearted logic, but she is attracted to him and she enjoys pushing his buttons. He slips past her defenses and consumes her. I loved their witty banter, Sebastian’s inner monologues and blasé attitude about his flaws were fun.

His Machiavellian scheme is going awry. In this twisted game of obsession and lust, he is bound to lose. He doesn’t do weakness, but he can’t control Camille or his attraction to her. His original plan of how to get Camille backfired at him and left him desperate to gain her trust. He is willing to suffer the consequences of his lies and deception. This character grew a lot as the story unfolded, and I loved that he could be redeemed, despite his errors.

Celia Aaron has woven a twisted love story, with well-developed characterization, including Sebastian’s endearing and long suffering father, and an entertaining storyline, that was not overly dark. I could not read this book fast enough and yet, I never wanted it to end!

Review : Swear (Landry Family #4) by Adriana Locke

Published by Umbrella Publishing Inc, May 15, 2017

Ellie Pagan has a list of reasons to stay away from Ford Landry.

It’s a mile long and was so much easier to stick to when he was a world away. Now that he’s standing in front of her—body hard and chiseled from a stint in the military, suit cut to perfection, and a smirk she could never resist—remembering all the reasons why just got a whole lot harder.

Ford gets Ellie isn’t his biggest fan. He just doesn’t care.

Standing in front of him, giving him hell, she’s even prettier than he remembered. All he can think about is how she felt in his arms, the taste of her kiss, the sound of her giggle in the middle of the night. He may not know how to win her back, but he does know this: he may have let her go once, but that’s one mistake he won’t make again.

My Review

Rating : 4 out of 5 Stars

I wanted to find out about this hype caused by the Landry brothers, and I was not disappointed. Additionally, I love second chance stories, especially if they involve high school sweethearts. Ford Landry and Ellie Pagan’s story was sweet. Adriana Locke has a knack for making you swoon, sigh and even cry at times, with her well-thought-out plot and engaging characters.

Ford Landry is back in his hometown to live close to his family and work with them. The Landry are a close-knit group and always have each other’s back. When he joined the military, Ford not only left his privileged life behind, but also his high school sweetheart, Ellie. They haven’t seen each other for a decade, but his feelings for her are unchanged. He intends to win her over, but he has his work cut out for him! Ellie is feisty, blunt and independent, she holds no punches. She is scared of putting everything on the line for someone who can’t be trusted. Although she is ready to settle down with a family of her own, she is afraid a relationship with Ford remains a pipe dream. Ford is ready to give her breathing room, but also ensures that she gives in to him.

This book grabs you from the very first page, with characters that are believable and easy to love. It’s a light and delightful read that completely makes you sigh for the feel good vibe of Ford and Ellie’s second chance story. They are supported by a cast of secondary characters, who add depth and warmth to the story. I’m definitely intrigued by the Landry siblings and will definitely read more about them!

Review Tour : The Wright Boss by K.A. Linde

TWBoss iBooksA new stand alone office romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…

I’ve always had one rule:

Don’t mix business and pleasure.

But then Landon Wright comes home to his family’s construction company with a broken back and a beaten heart and ends up as my new sexy boss. As the office gets heated, I’m thinking about throwing the rulebook out the window.

If only there weren’t a million reasons this could never work.

We may have shared a single perfect kiss, but I can’t let our intense connection cloud my judgment. Not with everything I’ve worked for on the line.

Dating your boss is so very, very wrong…even if he feels so Wright.

My review

Rating : 4 out of 5 Stars

The Wright Boss is a friends-to-lovers office romance, with a vivacious heroine and a dreamy hero. It grabbed my attention from the very first page. When I read the first book in the Wright series, I was definitely intrigued by Landon Wright. He has made a name for himself as a pro golfer, he is not only the heir to his family’s corporate empire, but also a celebrity in his own right.

Landon has to deal with a bad situation, he is the middle of a difficult divorce and an injury could mean the end of his golf career. He is hurting physically and mentally. He needs something to focus on and is back in Lubbock, working for his family company.

Heidi Martin is one of his childhood friends and Emery’s best friend. She is from the wrong side of the tracks and has a certain fascination with the rich and famous. Landon is both, but her affection for him is genuine. Heidi is an engineer at Wright Construction, Landon’s family conglomerate. Discovering that Landon is her new boss turns her world upside down. She won’t allow herself to be interested in Landon, despite the feelings she has been harboring for him for a long period. She is competent and hardworking, and work is her safe, happy place.  She won’t risk her job for a fling. She intends to keep her distances, but she can’t resist Landon’s charm.

Landon doesn’t want to be her new boss, but he has no choice. He feels trapped by his callous ex-wife and powerless to protect Heidi, despite his prestigious name. Landon and Heidi are not alike. Heidi is feisty and ambitious, Landon is charming, sweet and easygoing. But beyond their differences, they are perfect for one another, their chemistry is off-the-charts!  And with a little help from Landon’s close-knit family, happiness is a definite possibility. I recommend this heartwarming story, told in dual POV.

My Review

Rating : 3.5 out of 5 Stars

As a fan of Jackie Ashenden’s riveting storytelling, I couldn’t wait for this new series, featuring three brothers, billionaires and SEALS, no less. The Tate brothers have really picked my interest! Once upon a time, they were three orphaned boys living in foster care whose dreams came true when they were adopted by Noah Tate, a billionaire oil tycoon. Except Noah was an absentee foster father, mainly preoccupied by his business empire and his legacy. And, to his dismay, he had to watch his foster sons choose a military career over a business career and join the Navy SEALS.

Sullivan, “Van”, is the eldest Tate brother and has always been the one looking out for his younger siblings. After his father’s death, he wants to honor his last wishes and take the lead of the Tate business empire, at least for a short period. His younger foster sister, Chloe has been placed under his protection. As it happens, Chloe has had a crush on him when she was a teenager, but life happened and they were estranged.

Chloe is no damsel in distress, I liked her independent mind, she is defiant, stubborn and doesn’t like being told what she has to do. Van definitely has his work cut out for him, but he will do anything to protect her. His squadron commander’s leadership skills don’t impress her, though! She is still attracted to him and she likes the idea of Van protecting her. Chloe has led a lonely life and she has missed him.

Jackie Ashenden’s storytelling is fast paced and intriguing. There were layers upon layers of Noah Tate’s secrets to uncover and a hostile takeover to ward off. To be honest, I didn’t buy into some of the secrets revealed, and some plot twists felt contrived. Nevertheless, the characters were engaging and likeable, I definitely rooted for them. I enjoyed Van’s interactions with his brothers, Wolf and Lucas, these guys always have each other’s back.  Overall, this book was a great start to a new series and I can’t wait for the next book featuring Lucas Tate!

He didn’t look at her. Instead he shifted his weight onto one elbow and lifted his hand, cupping one breast in his palm. The breath hissed in her throat, the shocking heat of his touch reverberating through her like a scream echoing through a deserted house. He brushed his thumb over her aching nipple and she gasped, all the desperation she’d felt earlier rushing back.

He lowered his head, putting his mouth against the pulse at the base of her throat, the feel of his lips so hot she began to shiver almost uncontrollably. His tongue pressed lightly, his thumb brushing back and forth over her nipple, teasing her. She groaned, her spine bowing, pleasure like a live thing twisting inside her.

“Beautiful,” he whispered roughly against her skin, giving her the reassurance she needed without her even having to ask. “You’re just so fucking beautiful.”

He didn’t speak after that, too busy trailing kisses down over her skin, making goose bumps rise everywhere, the brush of his thumb maddening. Then he took his hand away as his mouth closed over the hard point of her nipple, hot and wet, an intense pressure building as he began to suck.

She groaned again, the pleasure bright and electric, her hands closing into fists beside her head. It felt so good she could hardly stand it. She whispered his name yet again, the sound raw as he teased her nipple with his tongue, then bit gently on it, making a sob catch in her throat.

He shifted his attention to her other breast, sucking that into his mouth as well as he slid one hand down the quivering plane of her stomach, to the fastening of her jeans. She lifted her hips urgently, unable to keep still, wanting to pull away from the maddening torture of his mouth and yet wanting him to suck harder, deeper at the same time.

“Hush.” His breath was hot against her sensitized nipple. “I told you to keep still. It’ll happen, don’t worry.”

She tried to do as she was told as he casually flicked open the button on her jeans and grabbed the tab of her zipper, tugging it down. Then his fingers were feathering light touches across her stomach, moving lower, sliding beneath the waistband of her panties. The breath sobbed in her throat as she felt those teasing fingers tangle in the soft, damp curls between her thighs, pulling lightly, sending tiny pinpricks of sensation racing over her skin.

She said something, she didn’t know what, maybe it was his name again or maybe it was a curse, and then she forgot it entirely as his fingers slid lower, stroking the soft, slick folds of her pussy.

Her hips bucked against his hand, her head going back on the pillow. He circled her clit with one finger, teasing her. Inching her closer toward the edge of the cliff but not pushing her off.

His mouth was so hot on her nipple, licking and sucking, torturing her as his fingers stroked unhurriedly around and around her clit, then sliding down to circle the entrance of her body, almost pushing inside but not quite.

He was playing with her, making her moan and move restlessly beneath him, blind now to anything but the feel of his hands on her body and the relentless pressure that was slowly building higher and higher.

Then quite suddenly he took his hands away and she nearly burst into tears at the loss, reaching for him as she felt his weight shift up and back.

“Lie still.” The rough sound of his voice rolled over her, full of command. “I’m not going anywhere.”

So she did as she was told, lying back against the pillows, blinking away the stupid rush of salty tears from her eyes and watching him slide off the bed. He straightened and pulled his shirt off, then got rid of his shoes. He un did his pants, pushed them down his hips along with his briefs, and stepped out of them magnificently, gloriously naked, but for his dog tags.

She couldn’t stop staring at him, following the carved lines of muscle and sinew, a work of perfect, masculine art, the eagle and trident inked across his chest making it very clear—as if his body hadn’t already—exactly what he was.

Dangerous, lethal. A weapon in human form.

He bent and got his wallet out of his pants, every movement fluid, purposeful as he extracted a foil packet from it. Then he ripped the open the foil, taking out the latex inside. And as she watched, completely fascinated, he reached down and gripped his cock in one hand, rolling down the condom with the other.

Big. He was really big. And beautiful too.

Her hands itched, wanting to touch him, to stroke down the long, smooth length of his rigid flesh, feel exactly how hard he was. But then he was moving, the bed dipping as he got back onto it. And her breath caught as he reached for the waistband of her jeans, pulling the denim down her legs in short, hard jerks, taking her panties along with them, and finally slipping them both off. Then he put his hands on her bare thighs and with ruthless insistence, spread them wide apart.

Another rush of vulnerability swept over her and she half sat up, breathing fast. “Van, I . . .” she began, before stopping short, not knowing what she wanted to say.

But he was moving forward, putting his hands on her shoulders and easing her back. “Let me look.” His voice had gentled again. “I only want to look at you.”

She tried to relax against the pillows, letting him hold her thighs apart, his gaze returning between them. The look on his face was so hungry, making her feel less ex posed and more . . . powerful almost. She liked doing that to him. She liked making him look at her as if he was starving.

He moved forward quite suddenly, coming over her, surrounding her with all that bare, tanned skin and strong muscle, his dog tags brushing against her sensitized breasts. The scent of him was everywhere, fresh, with that spicy, earthy undertone, and she was abruptly trembling so hard she didn’t think she’d ever stop.

He said nothing, looking at down at her, and this time his expression was fierce with something she didn’t under stand. She wanted to ask him what it was, but then he slid one hand beneath her hips, lifting them, and she felt the head of his cock slide through her folds, nudging against her clit. And she forgot what she was going to ask. In fact, she lost the power of speech entirely.

All she could do was lie there, shaking and desperate as he teased her, and when she didn’t think she could bear it anymore, he began to push his cock inside her, the intense stretch and burn of her pussy around him tearing a gasp from her throat.

She sobbed, because he didn’t rush. He went slowly. Inch by inch. Murmuring encouragement, telling her what a good girl she was, how tight and wet and hot her pussy was, and how good she felt around his cock. The dirty talk made her break out into a sweat, the climax so near she could almost taste it, making her want to shove herself up onto him or do something—anything—to push herself over the edge. But he didn’t let her, pinning one of her hips to the mattress with one hand as he lifted her leg up and around his waist with the other, tilting her pelvis so he could slide in deeper.

She stopped pleading, her throat too dry, her voice too hoarse. Besides, it was clear he wasn’t going to do anything until he was good and ready. She could only breathe through the pleasure that was wrapping itself around her throat and squeezing tight, making her gasp, making lights burst behind her eyes.

Then he was seated deep inside her, and she found herself pressed to the mattress, pinned beneath the hot, heavy weight of him. But strangely, looking up into his beautiful face, she didn’t feel crushed. She felt anchored. As if for the first time since she’d left Wyoming she’d come home in some way.

She didn’t speak as his arms came around her, cradling her, holding her close against him like she was a secret he wanted to keep safe. Then he drew back his hips and thrust deep inside her.

Chloe came apart then, sobbing against his shoulder, shattering as easily and as lightly as a sphere of blown glass, the pieces of her held together only by the strength of his arms.

My Review

Rating : 5 out 5 Stars

I simply adored this beautiful story of true love and forgiveness! The Bad Luck Bride is a story to get lost in, with beautifully flawed characters you can attach yourself to and a well-crafted plot. I could not put this book down! Janna McGregor has such an exquisite style, a fresh narrative voice, evoking so many emotions in me and making me care for her characters. I was fully engaged in their story, it felt authentic.  I enjoyed the vivid and detailed descriptions bringing the world of Georgian England to life.

Lady Claire Cavensham is an heiress with a lot of emotional baggage. She copes with the trauma of losing her parents in terrible circumstances and has become the ton’s laughing stock since she seems to be cursed with bad luck, after several broken betrothals. Claire is an endearing character, she is genuine, down to earth and generous. But she has experienced a lot of heartache in her life and is deeply hurt by the nasty rumors members of the ton have spread about her.

Alexander Hallworth has a hidden agenda, a well thought-out revenge scheme against the man he holds responsible for his sister’s death, that involves tricking  Claire into marriage. Alex isn’t a bad person, he is honorable and well regarded by his peers, but he is blinded by prejudice and sorrow.  He has initially no qualms about using Claire for revenge. He didn’t expect affection in his marriage of convenience motivated by his need for retribution.

I appreciated the back-story and the slow build-up of anticipation, each page I turned was accompanied with dread at some point!  Claire tries to keep her feelings for Alex under control, but she can’t resist him. He is tender, kind and protective. Alex’s character was well-developed, he is complicated, tortured and feels ashamed for deceiving Claire. I loved how she drew out such deep feelings from him. Alex and Claire are a perfect match, their chemistry was off the charts. But they were married under false pretenses. And there is a price to pay for Alex’s actions.

I absolutely loved every minute of this great emotional ride and wonderfully romantic story!  And I can’t wait to read Janna MacGregor’s next book!

Thanks for visiting and happy reading!

Alex smiled in earnest. “I would never allow you to be humiliated in front of society. I’m trying to help you.” Somehow, he had to convince her of that fact, then the idea of marrying him would be much easier to accept.

She blinked rapidly, then turned back to him and, for an instant, appeared startled to see him there. “That’s very gallant, my lord. Truly, thank you for the effort. But I must leave.”

This night could not end with her escaping, so he tried another tactic. “You need to protect your Wrenwood estate and your wealth from lechers who would feed upon your vulnerability. Not to mention stop that ridiculous curse.”

“I have two.” She held up two gloved fingers.

“Two? Two what? Curses?” No one at his club had uttered a peep about another curse.

“Estates. I have two estates, Wrenwood and Lockhart.” She returned his stare.

Her answer was unexpected, but his business experience had taught him to show nothing. The report from his private investigator had not mentioned additional properties. Thoughts were percolating if she chose to disclose this information.

A razor of lightning split the sky. She flinched and took a step closer to him, but her reaction had nothing to do with him. It was the storm.

Her gaze darted to the exit of the alcove, then she returned her attention to him. With a slight shrug of her shoulders, his evening jacket fell into her hands. She offered it to him. “My lord, good night.” Outside their hideaway, the voices of a man and a woman floated in the air.

Alex put his hand on her shoulder to prevent her escape. “Will you give me some assistance? I seem to have lost my valet.” He quirked an eyebrow. “Besides, if you leave now, whoever is out there will see us.”

She ventured a halfhearted grin and held his jacket in two hands. With a little persistence, he wrestled his way into the evening coat. Her hands smoothed the material across his shoulders and back, causing a pleasant sensation to cascade through him at the slight touch.

Claire took several steps toward the pathway. In a flash, he moved beside her and grasped her elbow. When he brought her close, something flared between them as he gazed into her haunted eyes. Whether the desire to keep her next to him was passion or the need to protect a vulnerable woman made little difference. He pulled her into the shadows and brought his mouth to her ear. “Wait until they pass.” The warmth from her skin beckoned.

A flash of lightning lit the gardens and the alcove.

With a gentle hand, he pushed her against the wall and stood to the side so he blocked her body from view.

A clap of thunder cracked as if the sky were breaking. It rolled into a loud rumble that refused to die.

“Please.” Her whisper grew ragged as she struggled for breath. In one fluid motion, she pulled the lapels of his evening coat toward her. She buried her face against his chest and pressed the rest of her body to his, almost as if she sought sanctuary inside. “Don’t leave me.” Her voice had weakened, the sound fragile, as if she’d break into a million pieces.

“I won’t. I promise.” Alex pulled her tight. One hand sank into the soft satin of her skirts while the other slid around the nape of her neck to hold her close to his chest. It was the most natural thing in the world to hold her. Her body fit perfectly against his.

With the slightest movement, she pulled away. Her eyes wildly searched his. For what, he couldn’t fathom.

He lowered his mouth until his lips were mere inches from tasting her. Madness had consumed him. All he wanted was to kiss her thoroughly until she forgot her fear—until she forgot everything but him.

Her breath mingled with his, and the slight moan that escaped her was intoxicating. Nothing in his entire life felt as right as this moment. He bent to brush his lips against hers.

“Pembrooke? Have you seen Lady—”

Claire leaned back and released his lapels. Without her warmth, he experienced a sudden loss of equilibrium. He turned with a snarl to greet the intruders.

Immediately, Lord Fredrick Honeycutt and his sister, Lady Sophia, took a step back as their eyes grew round as dinner plates.

The first to recover, Honeycutt announced, “I see you found Lady Claire.” He bowed his head slightly, then lowered his voice. “The Duke of Langham is looking for his niece and is directly behind us.”

A sense of wariness flooded Alex’s mind when Claire’s uncle strolled forward and came into sharp focus. As he stood, his feet spread shoulder width apart, the duke’s presence commanded everyone’s attention. His visage held the hint of a smile, but the two large fists resting by his sides were the real barometer of his mood. “Claire, are you all right?” The affection in his voice was at odds with the fury flashing in his eyes.

Despite his best intentions, she ended up as the one that got away. Now he’s back, determined to reclaim everything he gave up, including Sinclair.

Sinclair is immune to Shane’s charms. She’s immune to stolen kisses behind the gym. And she’s definitely immune to that maneuver he did in the back seat of his car… Okay, maybe her hormones are susceptible, but she has absolutely no desire to risk anything on the bad boy who broke all his promises.

When a little emergency lands her at his mercy, he offers her a deal she can’t refuse. And this time, she’ll show Shane what it means to be left wanting…

My Review

Rating : 4 out of 5 Stars

I enjoyed this story of second chance, it was full of heart and honesty! Sinclair Smith has lived her whole life in small town Magnolia Grove. Shane Maguire has accepted a short-term professional assignment in his hometown, related to an important real estate project.  Sinclair and Shane haven’t seen each other in almost a decade. She was the good  girl from a good family, he was the boy with a bad reputation and a dysfunctional family.

Against all odds, Shane has done very well for himself and holds a senior position in risk management. He is fully aware that this business assignment will be the perfect opportunity to see Sinclair again, he wants to get to know more about her. Sinclair is strong and independent and yet she is guarded. She keeps a part of herself closed off and is afraid of emotional entanglements. Her old feelings for Shane are unchanged, she is still attracted to him, but she doesn’t trust him anymore. This time around, Shane wants to see things through with her, he wants a second chance and I loved his determination to get it. He wants her to forgive him for leaving her and to trust him with her future. And he is willing to back his words with actions.

I loved the banter and the sexual tension between Sinclair and Shane. Their second chance was believable, it was only a matter of time till these star crossed lovers found themselves rekindling the love they shared in the past. Sinclair is not immune to Shane’s charm, despite her best efforts. There are true laugh out loud moments and many emotional moments which had me rooting for the characters, they were easy to love. Overall, Emergency Attraction is a hot, sweet, fun and romantic story with endearing characters and a charming small town setting.

“Not a mark on the car.”

Shane turned and walked back to where Sinclair stood with her skirt caught in the car door. “Or you?”

Her chin came up as he drew near. “That goes without saying.”

“Does it?” He dropped his gaze, and took a slow tour of some territory he’d once been intimately familiar with, starting at her bare shoulders and continuing to where satiny skin disappeared beneath blue silk. “I remember finding some extremely creative places to leave marks.” He ran his finger along the neckline of her dress. “So you wouldn’t get in trouble. You didn’t need to be as cautious with me.”

“I”—she broke off and swallowed—“I don’t remember…”

Oh, yeah. She remembered. He took the gift bag out of her hand and set it on the roof of the Mercedes. “I’ll let you in on a little secret, Sinclair.”

“What?” The word barely qualified as a whisper.

“I’m still extremely creative.” With that, he dropped to his knee, and peered behind her.

Her hand smacked his shoulder. “What are you doing?”

“Seeing if I can find a creative solution to your little predicament.” The position gave him an up-close look at the tangle of her skirt in the car door, the torn seam that rendered the dress un-wearable—he turned his head slightly—aaand the tiny, lacy, black panties that left mouthwatering portions of her ass bare to his view. Without doing any sort of motive check, he let his cheek brush the smooth flesh.

Muscles quivered in response. The hand on his shoulder switched to the top of his head, but she didn’t push him away. He trailed his lips across her thigh, automatically following the line of her panties where it hugged her hip and arrowed around front.

Her shuddery exhale triggered his inhale. Her scent stormed his senses, achingly familiar, and dangerously arousing. The molecules infiltrated his brain, coated the back of his throat, and left him dizzy from need. Balancing before her on both knees, taking a hip in each hand, he slowly closed in on the sheer triangle covering the prize.

He took another hungry inhale. The tip of his nose skimmed the lace. “Yes?”

Those slim fingers slid down until her palm cupped the back of his head. Her thighs parted.

A car alarm shattered the silence and broke the spell lust and memories had woven around them. She jerked away, shoved her skirt down, and glared at him. “That’s not part of our deal.”

He stood, intentionally taking up the space she’d tried to carve out for herself. “Don’t kid yourself, Sinclair. That’s always been part of our deal.”
