Dash Justice wrote the songs everyone sings.

His face hangs on every girl’s wall. But Dash wasn’t always a rock God.

Once, he was just Jamie, the boy I loved.

But when my name, sung from his lips promises I was good for only one thing, all sweet thoughts of him die.

Now his excuses mean nothing. His promises are weak and I’m about to show the world that even rock Gods can be brought to their knees.

My Review

Rating : 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Iris Daine and Jamie Vega were high school sweethearts, until Iris made a mistake that destroyed their relationship. More than ten years later, Jamie is a rock legend… and a caricature of the boy who was her best friend and her everything.

Stardom has changed him, he is the good boy gone bad, a man who has done every dirty thing imaginable . Jamie is contemptuous, dark, brooding and manipulative. He has never forgotten the hurt Iris has inflicted him and is obsessed with revenge. But she is still the topic of his songs. She still matters to him and she sparks his hottest fantasies. And yet he can’t see past the retaliation he needs to exact on her.

Although Iris doesn’t expect to ever earn Jamie’s forgiveness, she feels he owes it to her to grant her an in-depth interview, with real, honest interactions. These two broken souls share the same passion and heartbreak. There is a thin line between love and hate, their relationship was tumultuous and complex. I was cringing at the thought of the angst I was going to suffer watching a separation.

I enjoyed this book immensely! Seductive, dramatic and suspenseful, this book had me on the edge of my seat, my emotions running deep. I loved how the characters were introduced, with flashbacks to their past. I’m so excited for the next book especially with what happened at the end.

I am a liar. My words were poison and everything I touched got filthy. Except Iris.

She was the best part of who I was. The only bright spark in my dull, gray world.

But denial made me stupid and a cruel insult destroyed everything I hoped to have with the girl of my dreams.

Now I will crawl on my knees and grovel because sometimes, even rock Gods have to beg.

 My Review

Rating : 3 out of 5 Stars

The third installment to “The Bachelors of Arizona” is a story of second chance, a story of forgiveness, understanding and homecoming. And guess what: Nadine Titus strikes again! This time around, she has decided to reunite Brant Wellington with his ex-wife Nikki.

Brant is in a downward spiral fueled by his regrets and his feelings of guilt. His happy life has been ripped away from him by a tragedy and memories of the past haunt him. He stands at a crossroads in his life, desperately seeking a new direction, a new purpose.

Nikki and Brant never had real closure, they were only focused on their grief and their mutual anger. With their years apart leading to somewhat calmer waters between them, it soon becomes evident that their chemistry is still the same. They both must come to terms with their painful past and look forward to their potential future.

I enjoyed this book for the most part but it fell short of its interesting premise. I expected an emotional story and never really got it. Perhaps the most difficult aspect of this book was that I didn’t like either of the main characters. Their inability to talk to each other was frustrating. Miscommunication and misunderstandings between them were the cause of their divorce.

The cast of supporting characters was great, though. My favorite scenes were the ones with Brant’s twin brother, Bentley and Cole, Nikki’s friend. The supporting characters add depth, humor and warmth to the story. Overall, this book is not my favorite in the series, but still worth reading.

Excerpt

It was Brant.

Always Brant.

Maybe that was because they’d never had any real closure. Just fighting, yelling, and then silence.

God, she’d hated the silence so much more than the yelling.

The silence crackled with tension—it was always filled with more meaning than when words were actually spoken.

It wasn’t the yelling that had killed their relationship.

It was the silence that had followed. When he had every opportunity to fix it—and didn’t.

Why was it so hard to move on? Probably because she hadn’t tried.

Instead, she’d worked. Tried to stay positive. And hoped.

Damn hope. Stupid hope.

“He’s not coming back for me,” she whispered, knowing that if she finally admitted he wasn’t coming, she would have to take her part of the blame in why. Because it wasn’t just on him to come running back. A small part of her knew that it was her job to meet him halfway. Instead, she’d ignored the need in his eyes, the desperate plea in his voice, and allowed grief to swallow her whole. Because at the time she’d needed someone to blame, and it was easier blaming him than herself.

Blog Tour : Dirty Filthy Fix by Laurelin Paige

From New York Times bestselling author Laurelin Paige, comes a sexy novella in her Fixed Trilogy Series…DIRTY FILTHY FIX, a new novella brought to you by 1001 Dark Nights! Grab your copy of this amazing novella today!

About DIRTY FILTHY FIX:

I like sex. Kinky sex. The kinkier the better.

Every day, it’s all I think about as I serve coffee and hand out business agendas to men who have no idea I’m not the prim, proper girl they think I am.

With a day job as the secretary to one of New York’s most powerful men, Hudson Pierce, I have to keep my double life quiet. As long as I do, it’s not a problem.

Enter: Nathan Sinclair. Tall, dark and handsome doesn’t come close to describing how hot he is. And that’s with his clothes on. But after a dirty, filthy rendezvous, I accept that if we ever see each other again, he’ll walk right by my desk on his way to see my boss without recognizing me.

Only, that’s not what happens. Not the first time I see him after the party. Or the next time. Or the time after that. And as much as I try to stop it, my two worlds are crashing into each other, putting my job and my reputation at risk.

And all I can think about is Nathan Sinclair.

All I can think about is getting just one more dirty, filthy fix.

Rating : 4 out of 5 Stars

Laurelin Paige sure does know how to turn up the heat! Steamy doesn’t begin to describe this novella! It is well-written and keeps the heat flowing throughout. Despite the novella format, I was fully invested in the story and the characters came across as engaging and genuine.

Trish Bisceglia thought she knew what she wanted from life, love and relationships. During the week, she is the efficient and professional PA of billionaire Hudson Pierce. But when it comes to sex, she likes kinks of all kinds and not having boundaries. Of course, she keeps her business life and her private life very separate.

She is convinced she’ll never settle, until a sexy stranger turns her world upside down. Nathan Sinclair is trustworthy and a one-night stand with him seems to be a mistake worth making. She is enticed by his engaging personality, generosity and charisma, their chemistry is all-consuming. Their happy ending was absolutely perfect!

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of this author. She has perfected the art of seductive, addicting and suspenseful storytelling. Her racy plot hooked me fast and kept me flipping the pages until the very end. I really liked reading about the sexy journey those two took and how that changed them.

Excerpt

I swallowed and peeked behind me at the door to Hudson’s office. It was still shut, thank goodness, but I had to be sure. Then I looked back into Nathan Sinclair’s mischievous green eyes.

“I keep my business life and my private life very separate, Mr. Sinclair. I hope you understand that.” I had to bargain with him somehow. It was evident he had the advantage, but I had to try and regain control. In the last ten years, I’d only slept with a handful of people from the Open Door, and all before I’d made my list of rules. After that, I’d made sure that the only men I’d slept with were people I knew through friends, or work, or people completely disassociated with the club. “But I could make an exception if I had to,” I said aloud.

“If you’re suggesting we barter,” Mr. Sinclair said, leaning forward, his elbows on his muscular thighs, “I think I could agree to something.”

“I’m off at five. I could meet in the bathroom, or there’s a hotel just down the street…”

Mr. Sinclair shook his head. “I’m not asking for anything that complicated. I’m not in the habit of forcing women into seduction.”

Huh. That was disappointing for some reason. “Then what did you have in mind?”

Under his beard, the short, boxed style that George Clooney made sexy, I caught the hint of a smirk.“I’ll take your panties.”

“My panties?”

His nod was short and subtle. “You are wearing some, aren’t you?”

“Yes, I’m wearing panties.” I scowled. What did he take me for?

Though, the idea of not wearing panties and sitting so close to him was doing weird things to my insides. Yummy weird things.

I leaned toward him and lowered my voice. “If I give them to you, you won’t tell a soul that I work here and go to those parties? You’ll never mention it again?”

“Cross my heart.” He had a dimple when he smiled. His eyes sparkled, and those tiny wrinkles at the corners made him dignified at the same time.

USA Today and New York Times Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She is represented by Rebecca Friedman.

Nixie Rowland is having a bad day. Rushing home to drown her sorrows in ice cream and reality television, she decides to take a shortcut to the subway where things take a turn for the worst. But Nixie’s bad luck doesn’t end there—the white knight who comes to her rescue is none other than the Dark Knight of Wall Street, a cocky Manhattan mogul whose ego barely fits inside his penthouse. My Review

Rating : 3.5 out of 5 Stars

The premise of this story was interesting and once I got to know the characters of this story, I really understood where they were coming from. The heroine, Nixie, is struggling with the aftereffects of 9/11. She lost her parents and her best friend betrayed her. The hero, Nash Knight, is a corporate shark who made a fortune on Wall Street thanks to daring investments. He is ruthless and shrewd, but when it comes to Nixie, he seems to have a white knight complex, saving her from bad situations. Nash is a walking contradiction, he has a reputation of heartless tycoon and yet he is a philanthropist, a champion of at-risk youths.

Nixie is guarded and can’t handle drama or unnecessary complications. Nash’s intensity, drive and ambition are not what she needs in her life. She feels that they are incompatible and don’t belong together. And yet, they both want more in their relationship.

This book was an emotional, enjoyable read. I loved Tara Leigh’s debut, Penthouse Player, and I really, really wanted to love this one also, but I had a few issues.  I didn’t “buy” Nash and Nixie insta-attraction, I needed more substance, more feelings and more connection. The story lost a bit of momentum at times, with a forced wedding trope that felt contrived.  Because of that, I struggled to stay connected to it.

Overall, this book is a good read with some flaws and the author certainly knows her way around a beautiful romance. I’ll definitely follow her in the future.

My Review

Rating : 4 out of 5 Stars

This modern retelling of Little Red Riding Hood was entertaining and intriguing, it started out fast-paced, and didn’t let go. Meet the Big Bad Wolf, billionaire Rafael de Santis. Mysterious, mercurial and manipulative, he is a predator who engineered his father’s downfall.

Rafael de Santis has his heart set on Ella Hart, the daughter of one of his father’s friend. But she is young, more than ten years his junior, and he knows she is scared by his intensity. So when it comes to his very own Red Riding Hood, he has learned to be patient, never acting on his emotion. He is fascinated by her strength and her passion for ballet. Somewhat naïve and inexperienced, Ella is sweet and  in way over her head with Rafael. She knows he is not to be trusted, though, he frightens her. He is determined, possessive and never takes no for an answer. Rafael is definitely an over-the-top, flawed hero. But even though he was quite controlling, he was always considerate of Ella. Rafael has a troubled past, he shows people what they want to see and keeps his real-self hidden.

You really see how much Ella grows throughout the novel. She refuses to give in and gives Rafael a run for his money. The dynamic between them was perfectly balanced and satisfying. Their story was somewhat cliché, but they were interesting characters. This story was pacy, addicting and well-written.

If, like me, you’re a sucker for retellings of classic tales in a modern context, then this series of novellas featuring the de Santis brothers is not to be missed.

 Rating : 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Oh the feels!

This book did wonders at keeping me totally invested in the characters, keeping me reading into the night. The writing is amazing, totally addicting and it seems that this author has a knack for making me feel!

Meet Sean, rich, successful, well-known, a man with a tragedy in his past who has built barriers around his heart. He always shows much restraint in expressing his feelings, and yet he is a man who feels deeply.

Meet Ashley, a young lawyer, with dreams and expectations but consumed by her unrequited love for a fellow lawyer. Sean and Ashley start a sexual arrangement allowing them to avoid emotional entanglements. To protect Sean’s privacy, they enter into a contractual agreement but lines begin to be crossed and the casual affair boundaries that are meant to be adhered to become more and more blurred. The lines start blurring the more they get to know each other, until leaving or losing one another is no longer the best option but the worst.

This romantic and racy story is not all about sex despite the fact that the chemistry between Sean and Ashley is so scorching hot. It is also a beautiful story about emotional healing and finding love in the most unlikely circumstances. Sean and Ashley are brought together by a contract and kept together by love. Their journey made for a delightful read, with a bit of angst, but not too much, deep feelings and beautiful, touching storytelling.

Thanks for visiting and happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it!

Excerpt

After I turned the water on to get hot, I pulled my hair back into a messy bun and dropped my clothes onto the floor, feeling almost decadent—like I wasn’t just a normal girl with a normal job living a normal life. I loved the specialty bath wash the hotel provided—deliciously scented with lavender and honey—and I scrubbed up and rinsed off at a leisurely pace.

I wondered what Sean was doing.

He probably had a meeting run late or else something urgent came up at work.

I was going to be very disappointed if the front desk called up to tell me he wasn’t going to be able to make it after all.

I’d been waiting for two weeks for tonight. I didn’t want to miss out.

When I felt an unexpected blast of cool air, I turned to see what caused it. I squealed loudly when I saw a man getting into the shower with me. I raised my hands instinctively to beat him off.

You understand I wasn’t thinking through any of this. All I’d processed was the sudden appearance of a man where I hadn’t been expecting one.

“Hey,” Sean said, laughing as he grabbed at my flailing wrists. He was as naked as I was. “I expected a warmer welcome than this.”

I relaxed immediately, flushing with embarrassment and the aftermath of my shock. “You scared the crap out of me!”

He was still laughing. “I can see that. Who did you think was getting into the shower with you?”

“I don’t know. I thought you were running late.”

He moved so he was completely under the shower spray, the water soaking his short brown hair and streaming down his high cheekbones, strong chin, and sexy mouth. “I was. But I rushed over so you wouldn’t start without me.”

“Start… without…?”

I didn’t finish the stilted question because he’d pulled me into a kiss.

I had no objections to kissing him. In fact, it was one of my favorite activities. No one kissed like Sean Doyle did—with those clever lips, agile tongue, and dedicated skill. But I’d put my hair into the bun on purpose, and I didn’t want him to pull my head under the water, so I backed away, saving my hair from getting soaked like his.

He frowned when I broke the kiss and reached for me again. “Why are you all standoffish?”

“I’m not.” I giggled as I evaded his hands. “I just don’t want my hair to get wet.”

“Why not?”

I stared at him through the steam-thickened air. “Why not? Do you have any idea what it’s like to go around with wet hair as long as mine? It takes forever to dry and it gets everything wet.”

He frowned and stepped forward, pushing me back against the shower wall. “Fine. If you insist on focusing on practicalities, how’s this then?” He kissed me again, and this time I didn’t have any desire to pull away. My head was safely away from the fall of water.

“Not bad,” I murmured against his lips.

“Not bad? That’s all you can say after two weeks without kissing me?”

“What did you expect me to say? That your kiss is the most incredible thing I’ve ever experienced in the universe.”

He nuzzled the side of my face, his tongue darting out to taste my skin in little, unexpected licks, each one causing a quick jolt of pleasure. “That wouldn’t be a bad start.”

The British Knight, an all-new contemporary romance by Louise Bay is coming December 5th!!!

TEASER_3

TheBritishKnight.Ebook
When I’m offered the chance to leave New York to live in London for three months, I can’t pack my suitcase fast enough.

As soon as I touch down I’m obsessing over red telephone boxes, palaces and all the black cabs.

But my favorite place is the tube. It’s wall-to-wall hot British men in suits.

When I’m offered a temporary job working for a barrister, I say, sign me up.

On my first commute into work, it’s a total accident when I lose my balance and fall against the most handsome Brit alive. He’s as charming as James Bond and as suave as Mr. Darcy. I want to lick tea from his hard abs and listen to his accent all night long.

Turns out Mr. Handsome is my new boss. And his attitude isn’t as hot as his gorgeous face, broad shoulders and tight ass. He’s brooding, short-tempered and the most arrogant man I’ve ever met.

As we’re fighting, out of nowhere he kisses me. And I’m pretty sure I see fireworks over Big Ben and hear God Save the Queen.

I wasn’t looking for the fairytale but I might have found my knight in shining armor. The problem is he lives an ocean away.

Title: The Outpost

Author: Devney Perry

Genre: Contemporary Romance

 About The Outpost:

Trapped in his tiny mountain cabin, she didn’t expect to fall for his big heart.

Exposing a prominent criminal family with an investigative news report didn’t exactly work out the way Sabrina had hoped. Instead of basking in the glory of her article’s success, she’s on the run from a powerful man who wants her dead. To stay safe, she’s forced to trade one bad situation for another. Stuck in the Montana wilderness, she’s secluded from anything resembling civilization or the modern-day world. The only good thing about her situation is the gorgeous mountain man assigned to protect her. Too bad he isn’t the slightest bit interested in a city girl like her.

Beau likes his life quiet and simple. Give him a peaceful day hiking in the woods with his dog, and he’s a happy man. He has no use for large crowds, noisy cities or dramatic women. So when a hotshot reporter rolls into town, dragging her big-time problems with her, he should have run for the hills. Instead, he volunteered to keep her safe. Bringing her into his world won’t be easy, but if he can convince her that Montana isn’t as terrifying as she believes, they might just be the perfect match.

My Review

Rating : 4 out of 5 Stars

A city girl and a rugged mountain man find their happy ending : from the minute I read the blurb, I knew “The Outpost” was a book I had to read and I was not disappointed. Sabrina MacKenzie messed up with the Russian mafia and contributed to taking down a criminal empire. The courageous choice she made has come to great personal cost, putting her life in danger. She is a brave, strong and vibrant heroine who you just can’t help but root for.

She is taken to a cabin in the woods in Montana, with the intention of getting off the grid for a few months. She is a city girl through and through, stranded in the middle of the mountains. She could not have appreciated this return to nature, without the help of Beau Holt. Beau runs the Forest Service Office and accepts to take on her troubles, temporarily leaving his life and responsibilities to stay by her side. Beau exudes traits of an alpha male without ever going over-the-top. I absolutely loved him and he made the story for me. He was in total control of everything up until Sabrina tumbled into his life. Then everything changed.

I loved the way they interacted, the way they came to know and trust each other. Their relationship was not rushed. This story is like no other book I’ve read, it’s unique and refreshing. The ending was so cute!  This book had the right amount of drama and sweetness. I recommend it.

My Review

Rating : 4 out of 5 Stars

Noah Carter is a broken soul, punishing himself for walking away from the woman he loved. We met Noah in the SIN trilogy, while he was working at Deliverance, the organization specialized in locating kidnap victims. Noah made a choice, but he has paid the price for leaving behind the love of his life, Kimberly Porter. What brings them back together is fate. Kimberly is hired by Damien Stark as a consultant to market a new and innovative listening device Noah has invented. Their reunion is poignant, full of intensity, heartbreak and repressed longing.

Noah is so sweet and ready to pick up right where he left off. He is a man on a mission. Kimberly is afraid of getting hurt again. She is understandably wary of Noah, and yet she is deeply moved by his tenderness. What they feel for each other is powerful, intense and unresolved.

With dramatic twists and turns, the emotions and feels are off the charts! The writing of this book is excellent, the plot moved swiftly, the character development was on point, and I was hooked right from the very start. This book can be read as a standalone, but as a long-time fan of Julie Kenner’s work, I enjoyed the cameo appearances of well-known characters from the Stark and SIN series.

Thanks for visiting and happy reading!

Time to heal.

Somehow, though, he never found the enthusiasm. Or maybe that was just an excuse. Another way of punishing himself for walking away from the woman he loved in favor of the woman he’d owed.

And since he’d never have either of them again, he needed to kick his own ass, pick up the pieces of his life, and start building something real. After all, there wasn’t a tech gadget he couldn’t design, build, or repair. So why was he so clueless when it came to his own damn life?

It was time, and it would be easy. Painless even, because God knew Evie embodied everything he admired in a woman. Strength. Intelligence. Ambition. Humor. Beauty. She was as desirable as Lyle had promised and obviously enthusiastic.

In other words, he was all out of excuses.

He stood up, intending to tell her to lead the way. But the words that came out of his mouth shocked them both. “I’m sorry, Evie,” he said. “You’ve been wonderful, but I have an early meeting, and I should probably get home.”

“Oh.” He’d surprised her as she was rising, and now she teetered awkwardly on her heels, as if his unexpected words would physically topple her.

He reached out a hand to steady her, and for the briefest moment, he considered pulling her close and fighting his way past his hesitation. She was everything he should want in a woman—with the unfortunately insurmountable problem that she wasn’t what he wanted at all. Or, rather, she wasn’t who he wanted.

Goddamn him.

Goddamn his stupid, unrealistic fantasies.

And while he was at it, goddamn Kiki, too.

He was being an idiot and unfair, and he knew it. An idiot, because he’d made his choice to walk away from Kiki long ago, and he knew damn well that he’d shattered her in the process. Even if he could have seen his way clear to look her up after all these years, he’d forfeited his right to come crawling back.

Unfair, because not ten minutes ago he’d been ready to take the plunge with Evie, and yet here he was, dodging and shifting like a damn coward, trying to swim up out of the deep black ocean of loss and pain. A familiar pain that wrapped him like a blanket, so cloying it was almost comfortable. And he knew damn well that there was only one way to fight it—he needed to take the girl to her room and try to fuck the darkness out of him.

The way he’d done with countless other women.

The way that never worked like it should. That only dulled the sharp edges of his pain, but added no light to the darkness.

That wasn’t what he wanted. Not anymore. One of the reasons he’d moved to Austin was to heal, after all. To heal, and to break bad habits.

Still, it was tempting, and it took more strength than he expected to shake his head again and say very gently, “I really am sorry. I’m not … ready.” She’d been polite enough not to mention the tragedy in his past, but he was certain that Lyle must have at least told her that he’d lost his wife and daughter. Hopefully, that softened the blow of rejection.

She’d regained her footing, and now she stepped back, her forehead creased as her eyes flicked over him, expertly assessing him as she would a witness. “It’s been almost nine years, I’m told.” The sharp edge of her voice sliced his heart. So much for softening the blow. “If you don’t get ready soon, I can’t help but think you’re going to end up sad and alone.”

With a thin, sympathetic smile, she turned and walked away, leaving him to watch her go and wonder at her perceptiveness. Because she was right.

He was going to end up sad and alone.

Hell, he already was.

Cover Reveal : Respect (An Infidelity Novel) by Aleatha Romig

Respect – An Infidelity Stand-alone Novel

“The making of a man”

Standing at what I believe is the precipice of my life, I, Oren Demetri, was too young to understand that it wasn’t and too old to imagine that it couldn’t be.

The already hefty accumulation of my successes and failures, bravery and fears, and rewards and suffering, had brought me to this point. It was hard to contemplate the things I’d done, and yet, in reality I’d only begun to learn the possibilities.

I suppose that’s how it was for me at twenty-nine years of age on the brink of all I’d ever wanted without fully realizing the price I would pay. Yet in that moment, I knew there would be no cost too great or sacrifice I wouldn’t make. I had no idea how far-reaching that moment of self-discovery would be; because as the congregation’s murmurs quieted, bleeding into silence and allowing the thump of my heart to be the only sound I heard, I was a man filled with love and adoration, emotions in stark contrast to those I needed in the world I’d built or the one I was about to enter.

Angelina Costello was my dream and now my reality. I’d worked diligently to move beyond the actuality of being a dockworker’s son to becoming a self-made, successful entrepreneur, all in an effort to earn the right to call her my own. I’d overcome servitude to others, collecting their paychecks and lowly praises, to being the one who signed the paychecks and offered the accolades when they were rightfully earned.

The world was my oyster and walking toward me on the arm of her uncle was my pearl. I’d found her amongst the empty shells life had offered. There was no need to pry open another possibility. Angelina was all I wanted. Yet my path was uncharted. There was more for me to earn, lose, and willingly give.

The top of that list was respect.

This stand-alone novel may be read without reading the Infidelity series.

From New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a stand-alone novel based from her beloved Infidelity series. With classic Aleatha Romig twists, turns, deceptions, and devotions, this new epic romantic thriller will delve into a world where family takes on new meaning and even the inhabitants are suspicious of the next chapter.
